The Studio, 24 New Kirk Road, Bearsden

In this skilful conversion, the design has made use of natural daylight and gives a light and airy feel. This is an ideal space for a creative, design led architects studio in this previously redundant 100 year old mews cottage. The ground floor ceiling height was reduced allowing a mezzanine floor to be created. Further floor area was created by removing the lathe and plaster to expose the stone & brick walls and installing insulated render on the outside, thus the floor area was increased and thermal performance increased with one simple, but effective decision, and within a conservation area.
